PROFILE
Hyemin Gu is a landscape designer and gardener from Seoul, South Korea. She is a Master of Landscape Architecture candidate at the Harvard University School of Design. As a landscape designer, she has been awarded for submissions to many design competitions including the 2020 Young Architects Competition, Taksim Urban Design Competition, 2018 Seoul Show Gardens, and 2021 Maehyang-ri Show Garden. Throughout the course of her practice, she has developed hands-on experience by building several gardens and south to maintain a strong connection with plants as a design tablature. She has given much thought to the garden’s construction and the selection of materials that would both confi rm to a given concept and ensure feasibility from design to construction. In the future, she hopes to design spaces and artwork that integrate the positive attributes of plants with technology; the is plants can be used as inspiration for art or as a design metaphor / material, with technology supporting its sustainability.
