SAINT VINCENT'S DAYHOME

Saint Vincent's Day Home received a grant from Dunkin Joy in Childhood Foundation, and reached out to CSS Landscape Architects to revamp their toddler playground. Following a nautical theme, we proposed a revitalized area filled with extra storage spaces for toys and accessories, a new sandbox with covering options, a wooden ship with viewports and a slide, multiple elevation options for toddlers, and a sensory garden. The new design emphasizes increased sightlines for supervision and toddler height reinforced fencing for privacy and enclosure. The sensory interactions of raised mounds, multiple posts, raised walkways, and water features encourage growing children to interact with the world through their senses with tactile experiences.
